This Associational Membership and Participation Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Gathering Table Ministries, Inc. D/B/A Our Gathering Table, a Tennessee nonprofit corporation (“OGT” or the “Ministry”), and the undersigned individual or entity (“Participant”), effective as of the date signed below.
1. Purpose and Nature of Participation.
Our Gathering Table exists to help women experience the love of God through life-giving community. OGT is a faith-based nonprofit organization governed by a Christian, biblical framework and operated under the authority of its Board of Directors in accordance with its Bylaws, Statement of Faith, and governing policies.
Participation in OGT activities is relational, associational, and programmatic in nature. This Agreement is intended to define the terms under which Participants may engage with the Ministry’s gatherings, initiatives, chapters, and programs, while preserving the Ministry’s non-member, corporate status under Tennessee law.
2. No Legal Membership or Governance Rights.
Participant acknowledges and agrees that OGT is not a membership corporation and has no members for legal, voting, or governance purposes. Participation in OGT—regardless of any title such as “member,” “associate,” “participant,” “club member,” or similar designation—is for descriptive and relational purposes only.
Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to grant Participant any legal, voting, ownership, fiduciary, governance, or statutory rights in OGT. All corporate authority, governance, and decision-making remain vested exclusively in the Board of Directors, as provided in the Bylaws.
3. Associational Participation and Chapters.
OGT may operate gatherings, initiatives, programs, or chapters, including but not limited to Our Gathering Table, under the centralized authority of the Ministry. Participants may affiliate with one or more such initiatives or chapters, subject to program-specific guidelines established by OGT leadership.
Participation does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between Participant and OGT. Chapters and gatherings operate solely under OGT’s authority and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at the sole discretion of the Board or its delegates.
4. Eligibility, Affirmations, and Acceptance of Community Standards.
As a condition of participation in Our Gathering Table (“OGT”), Participant affirms and agrees to the following:
a.
Statement of Faith. Participant affirms Gathering Table Ministries, Inc.'s
Statement of Faith and agrees not to undermine, contradict, or oppose its theological commitments while participating in OGT gatherings, programs, or initiatives.
b. Biblical Womanhood. Participant affirms that she is a woman as defined by God and understood within OGT’s biblical and doctrinal framework.
c. Table Etiquette and Community Conduct. Participant agrees to abide by OGT’s community standards (“Table Etiquette”), including:
(1) No gossip;
(2) No drama;
(3) No political discussions;
(4) No discussion of controversial social issues;
(5). Faithful attendance at events for which Participant registers.
d. Attendance Expectations. Participant acknowledges that if she cancels within twenty-four (24) hours of an event or no-shows an event twice within a rolling twelve (12) month period, without a reasonable excuse communicated in advance, OGT may remove her from participation in the group.
e. Participant understands that these affirmations are material conditions of participation and that continued participation constitutes ongoing agreement with these standards.
5. Statement of Faith; Respect and Acknowledgment.
Participant acknowledges that OGT is governed by its
Statement of Faith and Christian, biblical framework. While personal affirmation of the Statement of Faith is not required for general participation, Participant agrees to respect and not undermine the Ministry’s beliefs, mission, values, spiritual boundaries, or leadership authority while participating in OGT activities.
Participant further acknowledges that OGT’s leadership, programming, and decision-making are guided by Scripture as interpreted by the Board of Directors.
6. Participation vs. Leadership Distinction.
Participant understands and agrees to the Ministry’s guiding principle: “Belonging is open. Leadership requires alignment.”
While participation is broadly open, leadership roles—including hosting, facilitating, teaching, mentoring, or representing OGT—require affirmation of the Statement of Faith, agreement with ministry values and boundaries, and compliance with leadership covenants or standards as determined by OGT. Participation in OGT does not automatically lead to a service or leadership role. All service and leadership opportunities require approval and may be declined or withdrawn at OGT’s discretion.
7. Spiritual and Activity Boundaries.
Participant agrees that OGT does not host, promote, or endorse activities or practices rooted in non-biblical spiritual systems, including but not limited to occult practices, tarot, astrology, psychic or medium practices, or alternative spiritual frameworks inconsistent with biblical Christianity.
Participant agrees not to introduce, promote, or facilitate such practices within OGT gatherings or platforms, whether formally or informally, in order to preserve clarity, integrity, and safety within community spaces.
8. Conduct, Community Standards, and Accountability.
Participant agrees to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with OGT’s values of hospitality, respect, relational integrity, and loving boundaries. Conduct that is disruptive, divisive, deceptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with the Ministry’s mission or spiritual framework may result in corrective action.
OGT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to provide guidance, impose boundaries, suspend participation, or terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause, to protect the integrity of the Ministry and the well-being of the community.
9. Compliance and Removal.
Participant acknowledges that participation in OGT is voluntary and conditional upon continued compliance with this Agreement, including but not limited to acknowledgement of the Statement of Faith, eligibility requirements, conduct standards, and attendance expectations.
If OGT, in its sole discretion, determines that Participant is not in compliance with this Agreement or the Ministry’s governing documents, policies, or standards, OGT may impose corrective boundaries, suspend participation, or remove Participant from the group at any time, with or without prior warning.
Participant further acknowledges that removal from participation does not confer any legal, governance, or membership rights, as OGT is not a membership corporation and participation does not create any ownership or voting interest.
10. Assumption of Risk and Release.
Participant acknowledges that OGT activities may involve inherent risks associated with gatherings, travel, outdoor activities, or interpersonal engagement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participant voluntarily assumes all such risks and releases OGT, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
11. Use of Name, Image, and Likeness.
Unless Participant opts out in writing, Participant grants OGT permission to use photographs, video, or audio recordings taken during OGT activities for internal, promotional, or ministry-related purposes, provided such use does not misrepresent Participant or imply endorsement beyond participation.
12. Modification and Termination.
This Agreement may be amended by OGT at any time upon notice. Continued participation following notice constitutes acceptance of the amended terms. OGT may terminate this Agreement immediately upon written or verbal notice. Participant may terminate participation at any time.
13. Governing Law.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
14. Entire Agreement.
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between Participant and OGT concerning associational participation and supersedes all prior oral or written communications regarding the same. In the event of a conflict, the Bylaws and governing policies of OGT shall control.
